On October 20 at 11:00 AM the shootings of vast episode of the documentary-fiction film “Lights_in_the_stage” will take place in front of the main “Lenfilm” entrance. This will be a panorama of “Lenfilm” workers ahead of the white colonnade with participation of famous film-directors, actors, art-directors and others. Also Leonid Rivman, the living legend of “Lenfilm” studio who is working there since 20’s, will take part in the shootings.

Oleg Gusev shoots New-Year’s TV-show “Starye pesni o glavnom” (“Old songs about the main things”) in “Lenfilm” pavilions.

“Who_was_Shakespear” film-crew has just been in London and in Stratford-upon-Avon where it shot places connected with life and death of film’s main characters: historical personalities concerned with one of the greatest mysteries of world literature. At this moment director Vitaly Aksenov and art-director Vladimir Svetozarov are getting prepared for shootings in “Lenfilm” pavilion. Shakespear’s “Globe” theater will be built there in November.

Ceremonial signature of joint film-production (“Menshikov”) agreement between “Lenfilm” studio and “Yugra” bank took place the day before.

September 28
Shootings of "Agitbrigade_"Beat_the_Enemy!" are coming to their final stage. Three last scenes are to be shot at the end of september in Shlisselburg. One of them is the most complicated - a scene with Kalmyks. The whole republic is supposed to be located on one barge - numeruos crowd in national costumes, animals, goods and yurta-tents.

Preparation for the shooting a new film "Lights_in_the_stage" (directed by Alexander Pozdnyakov) has begun.

At VII Russian open festival of comedy films "Smile, Russia" (Astrakhan) the jury headed by Leonid Yarmolnik has awarded the film “Ships used to come to harbour” by Mikhail Konovalchuk with a premium for “the most unpredictable comedy”.

An opening of a memorial plaque to Sergey Gerasimov, a film-director, a scriptwriter, a teacher, National artist of the USSR and a Hero of the Socialist Labour, will take place at 12:00 on May 21, the day of his birth century ago, on a wall of a house where he used to live with his wife Tamara Makarova, an actress and a teacher, from 1935 to 1941.

“Italian” by Andrey Kravchuk gets “Nika” award in the “Opening of a year” nomination.

March 15
“Coproration APC” Ltd. (www.apcgroup.ru) will present the last generation “Sony” film-making technics of a High Definition standard and will compare HDCAM standard with Digital Betacam.
Presentation will begin at 12:00 on March 17 at the chief’s hall (for invitees). Others are welcome at 13:00 on the 2nd floor of a studio’s building (near the cafeteria).

Elizabeth II, queen of Great Britain, has awarded Vasily Livanov, who played Sherlock Holmes in the “Lenfilm” series, with an Order of British Empire for the contribution in friendship between Russia and Great Britain and for the best performance of Sherlock Holmes.

Best of Lenfilm’s recent pictures will be screened at “Spirit of Fire” International Film Festival in Khanty-Mansiysk City (Siberia) which will be held from 25.02. to 3.03. “Everybody’s dancing” by Pavel Parkhomenko, “The_Italian” by Andrey Kravchuk, “Myths_of_my_childhood” by Yuri Feting will participate in Russian Debuts Program. In Special Screening Section Vitaly Melnikov’s “The Garden Was Full of Moonlight”.
